The interior is organised around a monolithic concrete coffee bench that anchors the café both functionally and socially. Its faceted form establishes the project's design language, with angular gestures continuing through bespoke stools, slotted reclaimed timber perch tables and finely resolved stainless steel details. Moments where folded steel meets concrete celebrate the precision of making, expressing the restraint and intentionality that underpin the ritual of espresso.
Materiality is intentionally restrained, allowing texture, light and craftsmanship to shape the experience. Polished concrete, mineral render, reclaimed Indonesian teak and stainless steel are layered to balance rawness with refinement. Subtle tonal variation emerges through timber, textured plaster and brushed stainless steel, giving the interior a tactile quality that reveals itself over time as light moves across each surface.
The planning places the coffee experience at the centre of the space, encouraging interaction between baristas and patrons while maintaining an intuitive workflow. Communal seating, window perches and intimate tables accommodate different rhythms of occupation throughout the day. Rotating artworks by local and Aboriginal artists, alongside seasonal floral installations, introduce an evolving layer to the restrained interior, while bespoke joinery and integrated geometric detailing provide a consistent architectural framework that celebrates local makers and reflects the creativity of its community.
